UVERworld - Endscape

Ok so I just managed to get my hands on UVERworld's newest single Endscape. It seems to have some relationship to a new anime called Toward the Terra which I am currently oblivious about. Anyway, this single comes with 3 songs all with Takuya's shaky voice included.

1. Endscape 8/10
2. UNKNOWN ORCHESTRA 4/10
3. モノクローム~気付けなかったdevotion~ 9/10

Endscape is awesome. It can't compare to their other songs such as Zero no Kotae and LIFEsize but it still makes the UVERworld standard. The song starts off fast, strong and loud. It eventually slows down for the main vocals but thats where the song starts to...well...suck might be too harsh a word. The major downfall for this song is Takuya's voice. He's always had problems holding those high notes and he doesn't do any better in this song. I can't rate based on lyrics since I have yet to stumble across a translation but UVERworld fans will enjoy this song. If your not an UVERworld fan....well I'd still give Endscape a try but just keep in mind it's not their best.

UNKNOWN ORCHESTRA starts off slow with almost no sound but breaks into some kind of strange techno around 0:20. After the weird techno session it changes into UVERworld's usual rap song. Now...as big of an UVERworld fan as I am...I have never enjoyed their rap songs. Takuya doesn't put as much force into this song as he usually does so it's a little better than previous UVERap songs and the music is pretty nice but other then that.....It's not really worth listening to.

モノクローム~気付けなかったdevotion~ starts off with some guitar and turns into somewhat of a ballad. This is my favorite song on this single because I've always liked UVERworld's slow songs (Kimi no Suki na Uta for example) and because Takuya does a good job singing in this song. His voice hardly falters, if at all which always makes any UVERworld song great. Again this song isn't extremely good but it didn't dissapoint.

Overall i'd rate this single with a (I know this isn't an average of the 3 songs for all you math freaks out there) 8/10. I think its worth the download (LOL download) but hey...what do we buy nowadays anyway Lol. And as for buying it...the only price I've seen for it was a whopping $27.00!!! There's no way in hell that I'd spend 27 dollars on a cd with 3 songs on it no matter how good the songs are.
